Bird seed feeding kit comprising the incredibly tough RSPB Ultimate easy-clean® 4-port bird seed feeder and 1.8kg of our ever-popular sunflower seed hearts for garden birds. The high quality, durable metal Ultimate bird feeder features comfortable ring perches and improved ventilation to keep the seed fresh for longer.

Our whole sunflower hearts can be used in seed feeders, on bird tables or on the ground all year round. Rich in oil and protein and bursting with energy, they're quick and easy-to-eat, and are particularly appreciated by tits, greenfinches, goldfinches, blackbirds and house sparrows.

RSPB sunflower hearts are grown as close to home as possible, from European black sunflower seeds. Other hearts might come from as far away as China, Argentina or America (they've got many more miles on the clock) and lost their protective coat long ago. The RSPB sunflower heart is greener, plump, nutritious and in tip-top condition.

Ultimate vs Classic range

The green lid, base and perches of our Ultimate bird feeders are made of durable zinc alloy, making them longer-lasting and suitable for gardens with squirrels and parakeets. (If these visitors usually destroy your bird feeders, you'll find the zinc alloy parts on our Ultimate feeders resist damage from claws and teeth, so your Ultimate feeder will last much longer.) Both ranges are Easy-clean® and feature a UV-stabilised polycarbonate tube that won't weaken or discolour in the sun, and both now feature the same comfortable ring perch design.

Not so easy clean
I’ve had this model for a few years and it has been strong enough to see off jackdaws and magpies but does let in the rain through bottom ports and not been able to twist off the bottom to clean. It has a twisty thing underneath that I cannot move and the whole base seems firmly fixed. Would appreciate advice.

Ultimate easy-clean seed feeders
Having bought a medium feeder and a small feeder to replace my old RSPB feeders, I am very disappointed as the portals are very small and when it rains the seed clogs up and the birds can’t reach it. I preferred the old style feeders. Why did you change them?

Thank you for your review. We are sorry you are disappointed, we will feed this back to our supplier. The new design improves on the flow of the seed, and has better ventilation to control moisture levels. You could try our Rain Away rain guard.
