How is RSPB Shop affected by COVID-19?

Please allow 2-3 working days for items that are in stock to arrive. Next day UK delivery is also available, find more information here.

Customer Service helpline and ordering by phone

You can order online at anytime, or place an order by phone Monday - Sunday 9am to 5pm but above delivery restrictions will apply. Our customer services team is on hand to help you from Monday - Saturday, 9am to 5.30pm (closed on bank holidays). If you have any questions or need any assistance please email shopping@rspb.org.uk or contact us and we will get back to you as soon as we can.

Shopping in store

In order to ensure people's safety, some RSPB visitor centres, cafés and shops are closed until further notice. Please check the map on this page on the RSPB website for updated opening hours for shops and reserves. We are closely monitoring and following the advice from the Government and World Health Organisation.

Are our employees staying safe?

High standards of hygiene and safety are in place at our Warehouse to protect our teams and ensure your parcels arrive with you safely. Our customer service team are currently working from home where possible. Our employees and volunteers are being kept up-to-date with the latest advice and information to ensure their health and wellbeing.

Are orders affected by Brexit?

  • Until further notice we are unable to deliver orders outside of the UK. Our European Union and Brexit information section has more details.
  • Deliveries to Northern Ireland are able to continue as normal.
  • We continue to work hard with suppliers to ensure a good supply of our products, but may experience supply chain issues contributing to stock issues during 2021 as new rules come into force.

Our delivery service

  • Orders received by 3pm Monday to Friday (excluding Bank Holidays) are usually dispatched the same day but please check for updated advice when ordering (at the top of this page, on the product details page, and in delivery messaging during checkout).
  • We care about the environment and your order. All the packaging we use is biodegradable and FSC ® certified. Whenever possible, parcels are sent out in boxes that have been used before. These 'second-life' boxes are still sturdy and as good as new, so why throw them away when they can be used again?
  • Any out of stock items will be placed on back order and dispatched as soon as they become available. This will not delay the rest of your order.
  • You will only ever be charged once for delivery, no matter how many parcels your order is sent in.
  • Direct Delivery (DD) products are dispatched direct from the supplier. These items take longer than standard items and will arrive in a separate parcel. We do not have control over the stock of DD products and cannot guarantee that they are in stock at the supplier. DD products are not available for Next Day or Choose the Day delivery as we do not control their dispatch.
  • Most orders are delivered between 9am and 5pm, Monday to Friday (excluding bank holidays). If you are unlikely to be in to sign for the parcel, please specify a safe, dry place where we can leave it using the box provided in the checkout. If you do not specify a place to leave your parcel, our courier will try to find a safe place to leave it. If no safe dry place is available, a card will be left and you will be able to arrange a re-delivery.
  • Alternatively you can now specify if you would like your delivery signed for, by using the box in the checkout.
  • We do not deliver to P.O. Boxes.
  • If you pay by credit or debit card, we will not take any money until the item is ready to be dispatched. This excludes Direct Delivery (DD) items which will be charged shortly after your order is placed and in advance of their dispatch.

UK delivery methods / options

Free UK delivery

  • Free delivery when you spend £10. Ends 2nd November.
  • If your order totals £10 or more, standard UK delivery is free.
  • Select items under £10 have free delivery (as long as your basket does not have other items that incur delivery charges). Items with free postage are: Gift cards, a loyalty card, and our catalogue. 

Standard UK delivery - £3.95

Our Standard UK delivery service is great value. If you place your order before 3 pm Mon-Fri, all in-stock items will be dispatched the same day. Standard delivery parcels to addresses within the UK mainland should normally reach you in 2 to 3 working days from the day of dispatch. Deliveries to Northern Ireland, Highlands and UK offshore islands addresses may take longer.

Next working day UK delivery - £5.95

Our Next Working Day delivery service is available for most orders, subject to the following conditions:

  • Direct Delivery products (products marked with the DD symbol) are dispatched direct from the supplier and are not available for Next Day delivery.
  • Pressies that protect are not available for Next Day delivery as they are sent via Royal Mail and we cannot guarantee the delivery date.
  • Out of stock products, on back order, are not available for Next Day delivery. You can still choose Next Day delivery for the other items in your basket that are in stock. The out of stock items will follow as soon as they become available.
  • Next Day delivery means your order will be delivered on the next working day. Saturdays, Sundays and UK Bank Holidays (including Scottish Bank Holidays) are not included. 
    For example, if you order before 3pm on the Friday before a Bank Holiday weekend, the next working day is Tuesday.
  • The cut-off time for orders for Next Day delivery is 3pm.
  • Orders placed before 3pm Monday-Friday will be processed that day and delivered on the next working day.
  • Orders placed after 3pm will be processed the next working day, so next day delivery will be 2 working days after the order is placed.
  • Orders placed over the weekend will be processed and despatched on the Monday, so next day delivery will be for the Tuesday.
  • Next Day delivery is available for addresses in the UK mainland only. Some postcodes are also excluded. See below for a list of postcodes excluded from this delivery option.

European Union & Brexit information

No deliveries to the EU until further notice

  • We have had to make a difficult decision in light of the future impact of Brexit. From 21st December 2020 we have to pause accepting any new orders for EU* delivery. This will give us an opportunity to review the impact of Brexit changes on our systems. We’re very sorry if you wanted to order goods to a country in the EU* as this means that you’re unable to place an order with us from this time.
  • We would like to thank EU customers for their custom in recent years. We greatly appreciate all the support you have given the RSPB and whilst we’re unable to take your orders at the moment, we hope that this will only be temporary measure. We are keen to deliver to the EU again as soon as we can implement changes required.
  • *Deliveries to Northern Ireland and Channel Islands are able to continue as normal.

International delivery unavailable

Unfortunately we currently only deliver to the UK.


Returns information

Returns policy

  • The RSPB offers a no-quibble free returns policy. We hope you will be delighted with every purchase, but if not, we will offer you a replacement or a full refund - whatever the reason. Just let us know within 90 days of delivery by contacting our customer service team on 0345 034 7733. 
  • Please note that, unless they were received faulty, electrical items, binoculars and telescopes will need to be returned in their original packaging, and in a re-saleable condition.
  • Where a refund is claimed, we will process the refund as quickly as possible, but please allow up to 21 days for the credit to reach your account.

Returns information for EU orders placed in 2020

Our returns policy (above) remains valid for customers that placed an order with us for EU delivery before 1st January 2021.
