    Product information

The only cat deterrent tested and approved by the RSPB!

CATWatch, the UK's leading cat deterrent manufactured in the UK, has successfully completed a two-year scientific trial conducted by the RSPB to determine its deterrent effect on cats in residential gardens. The results are published in the Applied Animal Behaviour Science Journal after peer review.

The research concluded that CATWatch reduces cat intrusions into gardens. The longer the unit is in place, the more effective it is.

    • Weather resistant
    • Cost-effective
    • Approved by the RSPB
    • Two-year warranty
    • Progressively reduces cat intrusions within your garden.

How to deter cats with CATWatch

Push the Catwatch ultrasonic cat deterrent into the ground, and when the sensor detects movement it emits a high-pitched sound disliked by most cats (but inaudible to humans). The frequency emitted is unique to cats hearing range, so the Catwatch won't bother other garden wildlife, such as hedgehogs.
Some cats will see the device as a challenge initially, and it may take up to four weeks to put them off coming into your garden.

Many people find cat-fouling a nuisance. This device is proven to reduce the presence of cats in gardens and the deterrent effect increases over time.

ALSO AVAILABLE: Catwatch cat deterrent mains adaptor

    Advice

    • Pair with the mains adaptor for best volume strength and 'set and forget' convenience

    If using batteries

    • Always use Duracell 9V batteries (MN1604)
    • Do not use out of date or rechargeable batteries.

    Wonderful Catwatch
Before I got this the local cats thought my garden was the local kitty litter. It smelt and I was constantly pick cat faeces out of my raised borders. I placed one of these and no cat faeces I was amazed. I was worried as it said to place where you thought the cat was entering the garden and as they are raised borders I couldn’t do this but it still worked. I haven’t got access to outside power so used a battery the battery life was about 12 weeks. Unfortunately the battery ran out while I was on holiday and the garden became a kitty litter again. Replaced the battery an no more cats. I have birds now on the garden. It doesn’t effect my two dogs. As it’s green it’s not really obvious either. So pleased with this product. I will be buying more for family members and would recommend to anyone.

    No more cats!!!
Having been plagued with what seemed like every cat in the neighbour hood for the last 12 months I decided to but the Catwatch and I am so glad I did - Worked instantly and has got better and better as time has gone on.
Easy to set up - just put a battery in and away you go.
Visits from cats have dramatically decreased over the last month - I get the odd one - seems like younger cats aren't too bothered by it (Or they're deaf!) But most certainly are are are harmless scared away.
The CatWatch does exactly what it says - it does not affect birds or Hedgehogs or other wild life, but cats absolutely hate it!
I would highly recommend this to anyone that has a cat problem - yes it's a bit more expensive than some others but it works extremely well.
    Glad I bought it

    Worked a treat
I bought this device back in December , it does exactly what it says on the box! We had cats regularly visiting our garden and using it as their own toilet! Just weeks after setting up , I am happy to say we no longer have this problem . If you want to get rid of cats This product is for you 5*

    Worked for us
Initially sceptical but this device has worked for us. Detector has long forward range, less so at the sides, so you need to place it where it will have most effect. By trial and error we found that place and we have had no cat fouling for weeks now. We have an outside plug so bought the adaptor too. Very pleased and happy to recommend.

    Very disappointed
I read the positive reviews and thought this may work but it doesn't. The final straw was when I returned home from work to find two piles of cat faeces very close to the device. This product is a lot more costly than other similar devices on the market so I thought it was going to work but it hasn't. It was despatched on 21 July 2021 so out of its 45 day return policy but I want to return it because it is not effective in my garden, not that I have changed my mind. I hope you will give me a refund or a credit note. Thank you

    Cats get used to it
I installed the device and put my trap camera next to it . Later I viewed footage and it showed 2 different cats apparently deterred by it. However now several weeks later I saw the local moggy strolling along the path directly in front of it completely undeterred. The cat is not deaf as it certainly heard me tap on the window and clap my hands.

PLENTY OF BIRDS AND NO CAT MESS
After having a serious problem with Cats fouling in our garden, I can honestly say that Catwatch solved the problem. I have to admit I was initially sceptical after trying similar products from other suppliers. The device itself disappears into the foliage and is watertight. It’s possible to plug into a mains socket if you have one. We don’t have one close to the spot that needed coverage, but that wasn’t a problem as it can also be powered with a 9 volt battery. It very easy to install, the spike holds the device stable in the ground. It has a red light that comes on when it senses motion (a clear indication for us that it was working), whilst also emitting a high pitched sound that the cats do not like at all. I placed it in the neighbours cat favourite corner ( in our garden, not theirs), it is no longer a favourite corner. No more mess in my garden, as long as the battery which lasted over a year hasn’t completely drained (battery not included), the CATwatch does its Job. I am delighted that I haven’t come across any ‘feline fertiliser’ since we have had it in place. Most importantly though, we get a lot of birds in the trees directly above the site of the CATwatch, this has not deterred the birds at all. I have already recommended to family and friends- it’s not a gimmick. It’s a brilliant product that delivers exactly what it promises and is worth every penny.” Absolutely BRILLIANT device!

    Effective Cat Deterrent
Very pleased with this purchase. It's not the cheapest cat deterrent on the market but it definitely works. I positioned it to protect our bird-feeding area and pond (at this time of year our frogs are more interested in mating than their own survival!). Within minutes of installation one of the local cats had approached the pond to hunt frogs but was clearly irritated by the ultrasonic burst and assumed the stealth crouching attack position. Having worked out where the noise was coming from it attempted to approach the device but clearly triggered another burst which caused the cat to flee the garden at great speed - haven't seen that particular cat again. Later, another cat nonchalantly approached the device from behind and then triggered the device as it entered the protected zone - it too fled the garden at great speed, also not to be seen again. Since then a fox has been seen drinking from our ground bird bath, right in front of the device, without being troubled by it at all, which I'm pleased about (the instructions say foxes won't be susceptible to it and that appears to be so). So, it's early days, but so far the device is doing exactly what I wanted it to do. If I have any criticism it would be the instruction only to use Duracell batteries or risk invalidating the warranty but otherwise I'm very happy to recommend the product.

I bought Catwatch after giving up finding frequent mess in my garden, I read the reviews which were mostly positive, and thought I'd give it a try!

I am amazed! I haven’t had another cat venture since installing it!!

Plus , I’ve noticed the level of birdlife has increased, which is brilliant as my husband is a keen bird enthusiast.

I highly recommend this product to anything bothered by cat mess or to protecting your birds from cats keen on sport.

We have been troubled by nuisance cats for some time and have tried many so called solutions to solve the problem without success. A friend recommended Catwatch which we purchased about 3 months ago. There was little difference after a month but I am delighted to report we are now cat free. This product does work but you may have to wait some weeks to see the full effect. Recommended.

    Very effective
I now have 3 of these units in my fairly large garden and they have stopped 95% of cat visits. We had around 8 'regulars' to the garden, including 2 particularly persistent bird stalkers which were an absolute pain, hiding under bushes and catching birds. We saw one of them cross the beam on 2 separate occasions and it disappeared at very high speed both times. It doesn't come anywhere near our garden now. The other has left our garden but has learned to sit on our neighbour's side of the fence and pounce, so I'm working on stopping that also.
One of the units is quite old but still in perfect working order. Very pleased with them, as are the birds.

    Excellent
Having got a new trail cam to record hedgehogs and birds we realised that we had lots of cats coing into our garden at night and when we were out during the day. We set the catwatch up just over a week ago. First night onlt one cat came into the garden. It went to within a metre of the catwatch, stopped and then turned away and left. We haven't had any cats in the garden since then. Thoroughly effective. Really pleased with the purchase and would recommend if you have a problem with cats.

    It Works
Moved house and found that our garden was used as a route for at least two cats. They also started hanging around the feeders that I installed.

Two days after setting up the Cat Deterrent, no cats to be seen. Hoping it stays that way.

Easy to get working - don't forget to order a battery if you're not going for the mains adaptor. As always _ despite the current 'lockdown' quick delivery by the RSPB shop.

    Does its job
Had 2 of these cat scare devices in my garden - battery operated - for quite a few years. Works really well. No more dead or dying maimed birds in my garden and no cat mess for me to deal with. Impressive bearing in mind that battery power is not as good as the plug in mains version. Note that cats without a full range of hearing may not hear the frequency that upsets most moggies although we have not experiences this problem. Old cats and some overly inbred cats may not hear this frequency. Shame about the price as may have to replace soon as don't seem to be as effective as they were a few years ago in that the red light came on every time we we went into the garden but now we have to get within about 10 feet before they click on so suspect it will not be long before the local cats suss it out.

    It works
Installed the unit on 6 Nov to stop local cats using our back garden as a latrine. On 10 Nov I happened to see a ginger tom entering the garden. When it crossed the beam the red light came on & cat leaped inches into the air & fled back the way it came. The back garden has now been cat-free for 6 weeks & unit will be moved to our front garden to stop cats hunting around the bird feeders.
Unit is not cheap but it certainly works as RSPB says it does/will.

    Cat free at last!
For some years I have had problems with cats entering my garden, scaring away the birds and fouling in the flower borders. I have tried putting netting over the plants, plastic spikes on top of the fences and another brand of cat deterrent but to no avail. I was given a Cat Watch deterrent to keep the cats at bay by my niece for Christmas and since then I have seen no cats in the garden or on the fences and am able to go out without a trowel to clear up the mess. I would recommend Cat Watch to anyone having problems with cats in their garden.

    Urban garden bird lover
I bought this product a little over a year ago after a recommendation from a work colleague, and I can say it has worked marvellously. Living in London gives me very little garden space, and therefore I do like to make the most of the space I have growing out of pots and raised beds, which unfortunately the local cats like to use as their litter tray. Since purchasing the CatWatch I have noticed a huge difference, and my plants and the little vegetables I grow have flourished, so thank you!

    My birdlife is returning :)
I’ve seen fantastic results from my Catwatch.

My recently new neighbours cat was making a mess in my garden all summer and after using a few products I’ve finally found one that actually works!
After positioning Catwatch on my lawn, the cat clearly avoided walking in front of the unit.
It's been 1 month now and I have seen the cat less and less and battery seems to work just fine,
I’m pleased and happy that I have a clean garden and my bird life is slowly returning, which I thought I had lost forever.

I am super pleased with Catwatch, thank you RSPB.

I have two units (2 properties) and with both I have seen neighbouring cats deterred with good effect. The cats now skirt round the beam area to avoid it. If you are using batteries, make sure they don’t go flat. Mains is best if possible. I had one exchanged as i suspected it stopped working, no quibble. Expensive but works and customer service is good.

    25 year truce
I have used Catwatch units for a quarter of a century to keep cats out of my car-port. I recently returned two units for repair/refurbishment, one could be repaired but the other was replaced at a discounted price. Over the time I've used Catwatch units I have found them to be 100% effective and I have absolutely no hesitation in recommending them to anyone who tells me that they have a problem with the unwanted attention of neighbourhood cats. 'You get what you pay for' and whilst these may not be the cheapest they do exactly what it is claimed they will do: deter cats.

RSPB response: Thank you for your great review. We are pleased to hear how well CatWatch has worked for you over the years! Our supplier is very good when it comes to repairs and replacements for units!

    A very happy Catwatch user
I very much enjoy watching the birds in my garden but got to a point where I was considering not putting out food for them because of the problems I was having with the local cat population. About a year ago I acquired 3 Catwatch units which are placed at the ingress points of my garden. The cats have been deterred and the risk from them to the birds minimised. I continue to put out food for them and enjoying their presence knowing the are safe. Thanks Catwatch.

    Does the job
We have tried everything to keep two extremely determined cats from entering the garden and using it as their personal loo. Even worse they hide in wait for the birds and climb the trees after them (not that they manage to catch them in the trees) but in the spring they would have been after the nests. After finding the remains of a bird they had caught we purchased the cat deterrent and so far so good. So far plenty of birds and no cats.

    Very effective
When I moved into my first house with a garden, I hoped to be able to plant up the borders and sit outdoors and enjoy it. The reality was the local cats were using the garden as a huge litter tray. It was very unpleasant digging, the smell was appalling – and then what to do with the mess! I installed a Catwatch 6 months ago and it was immediately effective; I have not had any problems with cats since. It is very easy to install. I use a battery as I do not have a power supply in the garden and have not had to replace it yet. I am now able to enjoy my garden as originally hoped! Thank you!

    A Wonderful Product
For us this is a wonderful product. We were suffering two or even three cat fouling issues a week on our suburban front lawn.
We have not had one since we installed our Catwatch nearly two months ago. The grass is recovering and we are starting to enjoy our front garden again.
We installed our Catwatch facing the house and hidden from the pavement by a bush. This to avoid anyone seeing the red detection light and becoming ""interested"" in it. For us worth every penny of the price

My good old cat watch cat deterrent recently gave up the ghost after 10 years so I called the UK manufacturer to buy a new one. They kindly offered to look at my old unit to see if they could repair it which they duly did for a small charge of £12.50. I now have my original unit back which is working perfectly. Upset i didnt buy this in the first place!!
As the title says, upset that I've spent nearing £120 on 4 different alarms, none of which really have held a candle to this one, I have now brought another one of these for my mother it's that good,

Background: We have a veg patch, and there are 5 cats within the surrounding area, we don't have a cat so our garden is neutral territory, and what with the soft soil for the veg, it's fair to say the veg patch has been a toilet over the past year and a bit!!

I've Brought 3 cat deterrents, and even heron/cat deterrent, all failed miserably,

not only did they A: not scare the cats off! B: run out of battery within a month or so BUT C: I could constantly hear the dam alarms.

Sick of this I spent little more money than the 30 odd quid, and frankly wish I'd done so from the start. NO CATS, watch them jump, it's been so successful that now I can actually move it to other areas and the cats still won't go into the veg patch!!

I have no idea how this product has any poor reviews as from my experience it is frankly superb! and im yet to actually plug it in the the mains!

if your looking for a cat alarm that just works, last on batt for near 3 months then quite honesty just buy it. it really is that good.

    So far so good!
Fed up with the local cats using our lovely small city garden as a toilet and finally decided to buy this. It works! We watched one of the culprits planning to come in from a shed roof but it was very hesitant and finally sloped off. We change the area covered slightly once a week so that they don't think they can sneak in at the side of the garden.
We are using the mains adaptor so don't have battery worries.
It is wonderful to potter in the garden without having to deal with smelly cat mess.

Did the trick! Buying a second one!
Having had months of clearing up cat poo from our garden, we installed a Catwatch last year (using mains power) and it did the trick. No more cat poo from the 5 cats surrounding our garden! After 8 months though, one clever cat has just found a small section where the sonic tone doesn't reach. So we're about to order a second one to cover off that area. The reality is that one Catwatch unit may not cover an entire section where the cats might roam and poo! So - here's hoping I won't have to scoop up any further poop!

Is it waterproof & ? problem with noctule bats
When I used Cat Watch initially, it worked but after heavy rain there was water over the battery terminals and I think this stopped it working. I dried it out, covered it with a clear plastic pot (Ex RSPB bird food container) and it's now ok.
I bought mine several years ago but it looks the same, so unless there have been improvements the above could apply.
Could this explain why some find it works and others do not?
I am also trying to find out if it affects noctule bats as the frequencies overlap.
I would expect the RSPB to have mentioned bats rather than hedgehogs!
I get the impression it's a bit on the expensive side. Shame, as it would put a lot of people off.

Manufacturers response: Thank you for your review of our product and it's good to hear that Catwatch is still working for you after several years.
We are not sure exactly when you bought your unit, but there have been several improvements over the years to the original design, including improved weatherproofing.
There will always be problems with water ingress affecting the battery terminals if the instructions we provide are not followed. As far as Noctule Bats are concerned, our understanding is that this species does not use the frequency range used by Catwatch for echolocation, so there should be no problem.

    Excellent Cat Deterrent
This Catwatch Cat Deterrent is very effective with immediate results. We are members of RSPB. Since we installed a Catwatch unit in our garden (one in front & one in rear garden) all cats have stayed away. No more nasty cat mess. Birdlife activity has returned in much greater numbers. Simple to install. Very Happy Customers.

Very effective, just what it says on the tin.
Moved with 4 cats into a new house and some 6 months later received complaints from some neighbours, long story short, eventually purchased 2 Catwatch deterrants and placed in 2 neighbours gardens May this year. Neighbour one reported after 6 months very effective in keeping our cats out of their rear garden. Neighbour 2 I view their front garden on a daily basis and it is effective in keeping our cats away. We actually viewed the cats reacting to the sonic deterrant and they do not go near the protected garden . I feel after six months use it is reasonable to make my feelings public.

    Seems to work
I bought this product to deter cats from defecation in my garden. I still see them wandering around apparently unbothered by it but the turd count has gone down significantly so although they aren't troubled enough by it to avoid the area entirely it does seem to make it unappealing for them to hang around.

One thing to note is that it does fire continuously when I'm pottering around in the vicinity; I can hear it, and the noise is rather irritating up close. Simply turn it around to face the fence while you're outside and pop it back again when finished.

    Goodbye cats, hello birds
We have a large number of birds in the garden using the feeders. Cats found it a blissful place to grab a snack, use the latrine, and sleep off a meal. The final straw was nest doors cat climbing a tree and destroying a wrens nest with several eggs in.

I bought a cat deterrent and placed it in a location to cover the whole garden. The effect was amazing when next doors cat jumped the fence to have a morning snack. The unit fired and it was a good take on Tom and Jerry. I have never seen a cat turn so fast and clear a 6 foot fence without in one jump.

It now sits on the fence licking its lips and scared to enter, the birds feed uninterrupted.

    A brilliant bit of kit.

    keeps cats away!
I bought this product some months ago but waited before writing a review. Having tried other cat deterrents I have found the cats get used to them, but I have found the cats are all deterred from using the garden using this product. I saw the difference recently when the battery ran out and the cats returned! The stake was missing when I ordered the deterrent so I phoned the manufacturer and they were really helpful and sent another one by next day delivery. I thought the plastic state may break but it seems really sturdy.

    very effective
Our garden is the local thoroughfare for no less than 7 different cats (at the last count). We've witnessed them killing birds which we feed daily in our garden and they leave their 'deposits' buried in our flower beds ready for me to find them next time I do the weeding.
Anyway I installed the Catwatch deterrent about 2 months ago and I can report it's done a fine job of scaring the little darlings away. They obviously don't like it at all. Excellent!

I thought I would mention that I've had 2 cats in my garden this week and as soon as they came with in the vicinity of the cat scarer and my bird bath, bird table and bird feeder, they suddenly scuttled off at fast speed. So the bird scarer seems to be working. So far it's done an amazing job.

Seems to be doing the job
Always confused when faced with extreme views of any product but the fact that Catwatch is Made in The UK and endorsed by The RSPB swung it for me to buy one. In addition I have tried all other known suggested ways of deterring cats, without harming them, without success.
Can say yet whether Catwatch is value for money, but I haven't seen a cat for a month and we were plagued with them and their messy deposits.
Looking promising that I have found my salvation.

We've been using CATWatch for a couple of years now with great effect. The cats have learned to stay away and foul elsewhere. Have just taken delivery of a second CATWatch and mains unit, which will protect another area. Also the staff are extremely helpful and knowledgable about their products and the issues they address. Can't say that about many companies these days. Happy to recommend to family and friends

Is connected to mains, and has been completely effective, apart from one night when cable was damaged by a fox, and had to re-join cable.
Also have fed cable through an old garden hose for extra protection.

Wonder where the cats are hanging out now?
They are definitely avoiding our garden since the Catwatch on the mains adaptor has been in use, and there's only been one sad pile of feathers in 3 months and no cat poo - I repositioned the unit to cover the attack site and so far so good. I am happy with my purchase and now wish I had bought it sooner (the price put me off and I wasn't convinced it would do the job); it can't just be coincidence that the well established bad moggie gang are now leaving us in peace. The unit does sometimes emit long high beeps, usually when wet or being set off frequently by us, so being able to switch it off easily when we are out there is a bonus. The dog was curious at first but isn't at all bothered by it and the hedgehogs still visit - as do the squirrels unfortunately! I must say I am surprised the unit isn't made of tougher stuff though, I just hope it lasts.

    Excellent effective cat deterrent
I had a real problem with cats fouling my back garden and after extensive research plumped for Catwatch. I now have a string of them protecting my garden and they work a treat. I have a long thin garden and now have a string of three down each side of the garden, all running from my exterior double socket. Word of advice: they are much more effective if you run them off the mains rather than on batteries as they give off a louder noise (still inaudible to humans!) Beware of cheap imitations! This is the original and the best sonic deterrent, and they are designed and made in the UK - hurray! This also means that their customer service is second to none - they will even send you new spikes if yours break, and they will repair them if they go wrong (I have had mine going for years and they are still going strong, but good to know).

I have so many cats around me that I was tempted to get a dog to keep them away but realised that this was too expensive an option!!!! Instead I bought the Catwatch and since then the cats have disappeared. This really is fantastic product, it does what it says on the box. It is so great not to go into the garden and see evidence left from a visit by a moggy.

Works very well in our small cluttered garden. Together with extending our fences with wobbly plastic fencing, we have noticed a huge reduction in cat visits and can now feel reasonably confident that our bird visitors can eat, roost, and nest much more safely! Expensive item for what it is but worth the money because it works for us.

I have been plagued with cats in my garden and have tried many deterrents without success over the years. Lasted ten years
I am surprised at some of the negative comments here. I've had the Mark One version of this for ten years and it has worked well with the supplied power supply throughout this time. It has now finally worn out. However, the excellent customer care from the company that makes them has enabled it to be repaired for a small fee.
I hate cats coming into my garden, even more so when I have birds like robin's nesting like I do now. It's interesting that I do not get bothered with cats since I got this deterrent, so it must work.

Love cats and surrounded by them, but hated seeing the feathers each morning and this device has kept the cats at the boundaries. They now walk along the stone wall and shed roofs and the birds are safe. I wish I had bought it ages ago. I also bought the transformer and the long narrow flex reaches to a shed socket and has worked perfectly for months through all this Scottish rain! I poked the spike of the device into a side patio plant pot and it protects an area of at least 30 square metres. Unfortunately it doesn't deter pigeons or squirrels in the trees but may deter foxes.

    Excellent product
Reading the advertisement for CatWatch I noted that it stated the ONLY Cat Deterrent tested and approved by the RSPB. In my opinion this should read THE ONLY CAT DETERRENT - Full Stop! We have had our CatWatch for over seven years, we run it on the mains adaptor from the greenhouse the cost barely registers on our electricity bill. It is out in all winds and weathers, through rain, snow, frost and sun - it takes whatever the weather throws at it, even the winter of 2010 and still it works superbly. An occasional cat chances its luck in our garden, but once they realise that the noise is generated by them, they quickly avoid the garden thus saving our valuable birds. There is always a cheap alternative to CatWatch being offered in the press - if you value the wildlife in your garden, in my opinion they should avoid them at all costs. Thank you for a superb product.

Does what it says on the tin!
I bought a catwatch cat deterrent from the RSPB 5 years ago and it does work (and it's still going strong!) although as the first reviewer on here says, it depends on the angle it's positioned at and I would also add that if there are any solid objects near it, they will affect the field of detection (ie make sure you place it where it has open space in front of it and on either side, if possible). I know it works because whenever I forget to replace the battery, the cats start sniffing round again but with a fresh battery they aren't seen again for weeks! I am about to purchase a second one for a differnet part of the garden. All I can say is, try it and see!

You get what you pay for
I had a mk1 Catwatch many years ago and it eventually died. Recently we have had a lot of cat activity so I bought a cheap version which was rubbish, so I returned to the Catwatch. It works and is now a much better design that the old model, so I'm very happy. I would definitely recommend the power adaptor, and I would also recommend turning it off when children are in the garden (the adaptor makes this easy), because if they get too close when it goes off it can easily damage hearing. The coverage achieved is critically dependent upon the forward/back tilt angle, and a bit of experimentation and lurking around the garden at cat height is required - all good fun! Finally, it does deter foxes, which could be a good thing for foxes given the recent news reports.

    Cat free at last!
I installed this product a few weeks ago. For the first day the 2 'target' cats were still in the garden but from day 2, apart from 1 occasion, they have avoided the garden. Interestingly, they are also avoiding the adjacent communal car park as well - not sure if this is because of the noise the cat watch makes whenever I pass it. This is absolutely brilliant because these 2 cats used to kill birds almost every day e.g. they killed all the female blackbirds, countless future generations wiped out as a result. Although the cats have presumably just moved operations, they are away from the only trees in the road suitable for nesting/roosting. I would definitely recommend this product.

Protect Baby Birds in Spring (2)
Five weeks later and the horrible moggies are gone! In fact, it took about a week. As long as you give a little thought to where you place it, 'Catwatch' works. Unit must have clear site, (trees and bushes reduce effectiveness). I have tested angles and have now covered entry points. I have two units to protect garden and feeders. Cats look at my garden from neighbours fences but do not come in anymore!Seems to work on foxes too. As well as killing my beloved little birds, the cats used my garden and borders as a massive toilet. I had tried cat repellents, oranges and chillies. Nothing worked until now, another big plus for 'Catwatch'! 'Catwatch' is very sturdy, though this would be an ideal product to be solar powered (but it is not). If you cannot run unit with electric power, buy rechargeable 9v batteries and swith units off if you are in the garden for an hour or more.

    Protect Baby Birds in Spring
Please consider getting one of these, especially if you have a lot of young garden birds on the ground in springtime. I got home one lunchtime to find 2 cats under my feeders and 8 dead young tits and finches on my lawn. Ordered this by phone, grateful it arrived next day at 8am. Took 5 minutes to set up with square 9 volt battery which lasts for 3 months and attached it to the supplied stake which I put in the lawn. Protects a 100 degree angle (fat 'V' shape) from the unit to a distance of 40 feet. I will need another one to protect my entire garden. Unit only sets off ultrasonic sound burst for 10 secs when it detects cat movement or body heat. It repeats this until the cat has left the area. Typically takes 2-4 weeks for cats to get the message and avoid the protected area.
Does not harm cats. Does not work on deaf cats. Exotic and white cats can also be hard of hearing. If you love your birds too, I feel this will be worth the cost...
