    Good Quality Compact Monocular
A nice sharp bright and clean image. Smooth focusing ring and eye piece cup. Easy to use for spectacle wearers. A massive improvement on my previous £10 monocular. Feels solid and is well built, which imparts confidence.

The carry case is the only weak point. Attached the case to my waist belt and the plastic strap started to split on the first day. Since then I have not trusted it on my belt and have instead kept it in my pocket. Rather than a plastic carry case, I would have preferred a more resilient fabric case. The monocular strap attaches to your wrist. Personally I would have preferred a neck strap but it does have a clip attachment, so it is probably adaptable.

It is always a bit more challenging to hold a monocular steady compared with a pair of binoculars. However, a monocular offers the convenience that you can keep it in a pocket and have it with you at all times or simply when you don't want to carry a pair of binoculars..

Quality of optics for the money: Five stars.
Quality of monocular build: Five stars.
Quality of carry case: Two stars (could be improved without expense).

    I really love this monocular.

As my binoculars has a minimum focus distance of 5 metres it can not focus in on close up stuff I was looking for something to fill this void .

And I found it with this monocular I can now can stand back and focus right in on butterflies and insects with out disturbing them.

Its also surprisingly good for long distance stuff as well but I bought it primarily for close up viewing

It's small enough to carry and I can swap from binocular to monocular with ease due to a nice wrist strap.

It is very well made light in the hand with great clear optics and is totally waterproof you also get lens caps a nice cloth bag as well as a leather look case and all this coms in a very solid cardboard box with fantastic concise instructions and a 5year guarantee .

Only gripe I have about this is the plastic leather look case that is supplied the belt loop looks weak and I keep checking it's still on my hip. And the rivet that holds it all together is not covered by the case lining so when the monocular is packed away the metal rivet rubs the finish on the monocular. But a small piece it tape over the rivet head and issue is sorted.

But all that said I can not praise this monocular enough and will be getting another one for the wife.

    Tiny and decent quality
Bit of an impulse purchase for my wife, who can't get on with binoculars. Tiny and decent quality image. Very easy to hold and simply twist the knurled ring to focus. Ideal bit of kit for casual walking or to wear when out biking. Appears well made and it's tiny. Comes with a little carry pouch which also doubles as a lens cloth. Very pocketable - because it's tiny (did I mention that?)

Only comes with a wrist strap which was a potential deal breaker for us as it's far more useful worn around the neck. Fortunately the lanyard had a fairly common release catch and by pure good fortune I found that I had a neck strap which fitted. The RSPB really should provide this as the standard fitting in my opinion. Perhaps a little overpriced but at least the profits are going to a good cause.
