We bought one of these in May this year, so it has been in the garden only 5 months. The poles are rusting at the joints and this morning one of the spikes has broken off having rusted through at the collar, so now only three spikes in the ground to steady the pole. Poor quality and poor value for money in my opinion. Won’t be buying again and won’t be recommending.

Very poor design.My previous feeder had a sturdy pole to drive into the ground but the four spike base is very flimsy and the feeder was wobbly from the start..Attempting to drive it in more securely only succeeded in bending the thin metal,making the feeder impossible to reassemble.Will return and buy a product from someone else

I bought this as a replacement for my old bird feeder which doesn't seem to be available, but was a pole sunk into the ground. Not only did this break within a couple of months (one of the base legs broke off and it bent quite badly) it's a stupid design - each time I mow the lawn (which is where I had my other one happily for a couple of years) you have to remove it (unless you want the grass around it to grow). I've always been happy with RSPB products until now but am really not impressed and there doesn't seem to be any decent alternative. Bring back the old feeder - much better made!!!

Bought "Premium" station to replace old solid plastic coated unit which had lasted years but was looking worse for wear.
Firstly, "Premium" station is not very tall. Baffle needed to keep squirrels at bay as they can easily climb up, even jump up, the pole to reach feeders.
Pole and ground spikes are hollow and made of relatively thin sheet, not solid material.
The 3 section pole is screwed together by means of small thread and socket pieces pre-fitted into ends of the hollow pole sections. Any movement caused by wind or weight of feeders (mine are 6 port) cause the pole to bend at the joints and distort out of vertical or in my case, when windy today, to bend and snap!
Ground spikes are of rectangular hollow section which, unless the ground is very soft, splay out when being pressed in.
The screws retaining the feeder arms and ground spikes to the pole easily scrape the paint finish off causing rust.
Only erected in New Year. Now in pieces. Ready for tip!

Lovely bird feeder, I agree with one of the other reviewers that the securing wing nut should be above ground. I put a spot of WD40 on the nut prior to burying in the ground in the hope that helps if I have to remove it in future. But don't let this put anyone off, the birds (and squirrels) love it.

Very easy to put together and fix into the ground.
One slight issue is the bolt used to secure the pole into the collar on the base is under the base rather than on the top. This means it's partially buried in my lawn making it difficult/messy to adjust.

Fatastic little arrangement .
We live in the bustle of a concrete jungle the little birds flock to feed .
What a joy for both me and the birds!.
