    Product information

Save money by buying the bird bath and stand together.

This lovely glazed ceramic bird bath comes with the first stanza of William Blake's poem 'Auguries of Innocence' inscribed around the edge.

"To see a world in a grain of sand, And heaven in a wild flower, Hold infinity in the palm of your hand, And eternity in an hour."

High-fired, frost resistant, durable and sturdy, it's wonderfully ornamental. The attractive rippled, graduated depth makes it safe for birds and a pretty addition to your garden.

    Advice

While this bird bath is frost resistant, it is not frost proof. It may be worth protecting it from severe icing conditions and repeated cycles of freezing and defrosting, as all glazed ceramics can eventually suffer water penetration and subsequent frost damage

Birds need water for drinking and bathing. Water is particularly important during the winter when natural supplies may be frozen, and in dry, hot weather during the summer when water can be hard to find.

    Lovely bird baths!
I was shocked to see the poor reviews for these bird baths. I have had two of these for nearly 10 years and am very happy with them. They stay out all year round and yes I defrost them (carefully) with boiling water and I have only had to replace one cracked bowl in that time. I like them so much I have just ordered two more for my daughters for Christmas! I looked at other designs but still like this best. Compact, sturdy, stable once you've got them levelled up, and full of character. They look lovely in the garden and my birds love them too!

    So far so good!
I bought the bath & stand over a year ago. Many birds & the odd passing cat give it regular use. Certainly the top at times appeared rather unstable, although it never came off, but I have now secured bottom to top. So far there has been no sign of cracking, even when I used hot water on it when it iced over last Winter. It looks good in the garden & is doing the job.

    without the stand
I have this bird bath _without_ the stand. It has lasted me through several years of hard frosts, including the crazy winter the year before last when temperatures plummeted to -15C. Also, being somewhat reckless, when it is iced-up I thaw it by pouring boiling water onto the ice. However, mine is on the ground, no stand. Perhaps raising it up in the air on the stand is what is causing so many of these to crack? Or maybe you've just been unlucky and received duff ones. Mine is great, the birds love it, all sorts use it from long-tailed tits right up to wood pigeons, it's my favourite wildlife-thing in my garden.

    Love it
I think the negative reviewer must have got a bad batch, cause mine sits firms on top of the stand and i haven't had any problems with it.

Love my bird bath and is so much better than those out there.

    Beautiful
I got this product for Christmas last year top and base, whilst I agree with the last reviewer it only rests on the top we put a smeer of silicon around the top and joined the two together and it's very solid so don't let it put you off. It is a beautiful product made only better by the jay I photographed drinking from it.
