Product description
Although harder to spot than their later life-cycle counterparts (the moth and butterfly) caterpillars are just as varied and beautiful. With over 2,500 moths and 70 butterflies in the UK, we have narrowed down the field to select illustrations of the 60 caterpillar species you are most likely to see in your garden. Species are grouped by family and helpfully labelled to assist with identification. Artworks are shown side by side for quick comparison and easy reference at home or in the field. The reverse of the chart provides information on the habitats, behaviour, life cycles and diets of our caterpillars, as well as the conservation issues they are facing and how the RSPB and other conservation charities are working to support them. Practical tips on how to make your garden more caterpillar-friendly are also included. .
