Product description

This charming vase, titled ‘Secrets of the Reedbed’, has been designed by Moorcroft’s Vicky Lovatt to celebrate RSPB Leighton Moss’ 60th anniversary.

It features the UK’s loudest bird, the Bittern, which is making a comeback at the RSPB reserve. Leighton Moss is home to the largest reedbed in the north-west of England, and provides the ideal habitat for this secretive bird.

Featuring a pair of elusive Bitterns moving silently through the reeds at the water’s edge, this limited edition vase perfectly captures the beauty of the Bittern. Between February and May, the Bittern’s noisy ‘boom’ can be heard from up to three miles away!

The vase also showcases another species, the Bearded Tit – a pair of which balance precociously between the reeds like comical acrobats. These birds can often be seen flitting across the top of the reedbeds.

Celebrate Leighton Moss’ 60th anniversary, and the secrets of the reedbed, with this beautiful vase.
