Brilliant - hanging 2 cakes outside my kitchen window I have counted up to 7 sparrows fighting to get there first. The pigeons sit underneath to pick up the crumbs! Even the blackbirds enjoy them when they are on the bird table.
In cold dry weather they disappear very quickly.

These blocks must be very tasty as birds literally devour them. Some cheaper suet cakes I've been using lasted a few days but these disappear in 1 or at most 2 days. Too expensive to feed every day but I will buy them as a treat and try to protect some from starlings so other birds can enjoy.

The best suet blocks - we feed the birds at work and at home. They attract all the usual suspects plus, robins, blackbirds, jackdaws, great spotted woodpeckers, gold finishes to name but a few.

These super suet cakes (any type, berry, mealworm etc), are very good quality and 'my' birds love them, and would easily devour several cakes a day, but I ration them to up to two daily as these cakes are not cheap. The only negative thing I have to say about them (apart from the expense) is that they come individually wrapped in plastic, and why when we know the damage plastic is doing to the environment? RSPB - until you use compostable plastics I am not buying more, & I recommend other people don't buy products that come packaged without concern for the environment. It can't be that much more expensive to use compostable wrapping, especially if the cakes are wrapped altogether rather than individually?

Not sure why other people's birds seem not sure of these. Ours love them! Have been getting through one a day for weeks. They prefer them to the other suet blocks. And they are so much nicer to put in the containers. Less messy. And they didn't melt in the hot weather.

Previously used the Square Cakes. Took a few days but they're all gobbling away. Blackbirds, sparrows, jackdaws, blue and great tits, robin, and, earlier, blackcaps.

I'm not sure why the mealworm version of this product has received some poor reviews in relation to the insect version. The birds in our garden like both indistinguishably, and a wide variety take them from the hanging cage, not just expected types such as long-tailed tits and greater spotted woodpeckers, but even things like jackdaws!

The great thing about super suet is the consistency, somewhat like set fudge, which means you don't get greasy mess all over your hands when you put them out. Also they are easily cut into strips if you want to use them in a suet log feeder, or diced up for ground feeding. My (birds') preferred suet product; we get through a lot, hence the dream for me would be if they were standardly slightly cheaper!!

Not going well... Other times the starlings and woodpeckers have eaten a cake a day but this batch is not good. Will try breaking them up and putting the bits on the ground, but then the pesky pigeons might arrive. Oh dear.

Not a good buy, even the starlings who previously devoured a block a day don't like these. Might try breaking them up to get rid of them.

Sadly these suet cakes do not work. Bought a big box of 10 and struggling to get rid of it. The starlings which are numerous in the garden hardly touch them and much prefer the normal suet cakes which they found much easier to eat. These blocks are too hard and the only way to use them is to reduce them to crumbs and put them out on the open tray.

Starlings in my area flock in droves whenever I put these suet cakes out. They can get through two in a day easily, queueing patiently if noisily for their turn !
