    Product information

Delight the birds with our Coconut shell treats with added mealworms for extra flavour and nutrition.

Featured on James Martin's Saturday Morning (ITV, January 2019)

Who gets more pleasure out of these, the blue tits, long-tailed tits and other beautiful species who devour them - or you watching them clinging to a suspended coconut shell, contentedly pecking at its contents?

Each easy-to-hang shell is packed with a nutritious blend of our premium suet, seeds and cereals, plus mealworms and weighs around 275 g.

Individually wrapped and supplied in a recyclable cardboard box. Filled in the UK.

Most garden birds will eat many different foods. Here's a quick guide to the birds that particularly enjoy this food, though other species may also enjoy it too:

    Type of bird
    • Coal tit
    • Blackcap
    • Great tit
    • Great spotted woodpecker
    • Long-tailed tit
    • Starling

Our suet products are specially formulated to make them suitable for year-round feeding. However, if positioned in direct sunlight they may soften or melt in very hot weather. If this is happening, try placing them in a shaded spot instead, or waiting until the weather is cooler.

    Guaranteed entertainement!
The birds in our small London garden love it and we love watching them. The list of bird species pecking at it gets longer and longer; the resourcefulness they display is astounding: we have all sorts of tits, robins, black birds, starlings, pigeons and even wood pigeons pecking at them with the most amazing display of acrobatics. I agree with the above comment about too much wrapping and wish the squirrels weren't so voracious!

    Too much plastic!
First of all, these are great and the birds really do love them (particularly blue and long tailed tits)! However, I ordered a large box of these and was disappointed upon opening that each of the coconuts is individually wrapped in plastic- what is the need for this? Can these either be boxed unwrapped or in the compostable wrapping used on other items please?
    RSPB response
Thank you. We are investigating packaging alternatives with the supplier. Suet products present a significant challenge due to their high fat content, though we released plastic-free suet cakes last year and hope to apply the same to more products soon.

    Excellent but......
The birds who visit my garden love these, but please can we have a better quality of string hanging loops? Every single one in my curent batch has broken, causing the coconut to fall to the ground & I've had to improvise using garden string! They're hung from a metal feeding hook so are not rubbing on rough surfaces, so that's not the cause of the breakages.
    RSPB response
Thank you. It is great that the birds are enjoying these, though we are sorry to hear about the quality issue with the string. This may have been a bad batch. We will pass this to the product team to investigate.
