Medusa bird feeder defender

Product description

Keep larger birds away and prevent mobbing with the Medusa bird feeder defender. Made from 100% powder-coated steel, the Medusa works with a variety of different bird feeders.

The Medusa feeder protector has been vigorously tested and designed to ensure maximum safety and effectiveness.

Simply hang the Medusa feeder defender away from obstructions, and then hang your tubular feeder from the hook on the lower inside lid of the Medusa.

For the Medusa to be most effective, ensure the bottom of your feeder does not hang lower than the bottom of the dangling chains (our small and medium-sized Classic/Ultimate feeders will fit fine). After a short while, the smaller birds that visit your garden will learn to comfortably flit between the hanging chains and soon begin to use them as perches when approaching the feeder or whilst waiting for their turn to feed. The bars on the top of the Medusa also provide a comfortable staging post for small birds to perch. Large birds, on the other hand, dislike the feeling of the chains on their flight feathers and most will soon give up on trying to feed on the protected feeder.

To have the desired effect the feeder should be of a standard tube type (our Classics and Ultimates) without wide trays which provide grab points near the chains. Other feeders like the Eco Beacon, My Favourites and ceramic feeders are compatible, but the Medusa may be less effective on these wider feeders compared with tubular feeders.

Please ensure you clean the Medusa bird feeder defender weekly, along with your bird feeders.
