Product description
Made from fired terracotta, this nesting cup has been specially designed for House Martins to nest in.
House Martins have been in decline in recent years, due to the loss of eaves in modern housing design. By putting up a House Martin nest cup you can help support these summer migrants by offering them a place to nest.
With a rough texture to the bowl and a central entrance scoop, this House Martin nest cup has been fashioned to replicate the shape and form of natural House Martin nests.
The dimensions of the semi-circle opening have been carefully chosen to reduce the chance of House Sparrows accessing it, which in turn will increase the chance for House Martins to nest.
Place it as high as possible under the eaves of a building for the best chance of nesting success.

Siting advice
House Martin nests should be sited on the wall directly under the eaves of a house, preferably out of direct sunlight and rain. North or east-facing walls are ideal. However, nests facing other directions are still likely to be used. The nest must be high enough for the birds to launch and fly away comfortably. If you have several House Martin nests, group them together for the best results.
