Moorcroft vase, call of the curlew

RSPB > Gifts & home > Home & kitchen > Home decor & furnishings > Vases

This beautifully hand-painted Moorcroft vase features Kerry Goodwin’s design of a curlew. With its distinct feather markings and long, curled beak, the curlew can be found in wetlands and grassland.

The front of the vase shows the curlew in flight, and on the reverse side, this majestic bird stands tall and proud amongst the wonderfully detailed long grass with a subtle contrast of blue waters.

Curlews are one of the UK’s most inspiring birds but research has shown a steady decline in curlew breeding populations across the last years.
The RSPB now considers the curlew a high conservation priority bird species and looking to conserve the curlew's breeding habitat, which is likely to also benefit a wide range of other flora and fauna.
