    Well worth it
I always said I wouldn't have a scope, having to carry it etc. That bit still applies but it is worth having one and this fits the bill as a starter. Super performance and, to be honest, when I looked at far more expensive kit I couldn't see the need to pay that much. Great close focus and I use it a lot at home set up in the conservatory watching the feeders. One small niggle is the clamping wing screw on the tripod mount which doesn't lock so I'm frequently taking the scope off the tripod to tighten it after carrying it any distance. Would be worth talking to the makers RSPB please. Could be expensive if it drops off. I upgraded the tripod to the Sherpa, which is a more robust construction than the one offered when I got mine. I will at some stage upgrade to the 80, then my better half can have the benefit of the gift she bought for me.
