RSPB Super suet hanging cakes, mealworm

RSPB > Sale and offers > Bird food offers > Sacks offers

We've improved the recipe in our hanging bird cakes and added delicious mealworms.

They're now made with our Super suet formula which means they are just as packed with energy for the birds but they aren't sticky for you! Plus the packaging is much easier to open.

Each 500 g cake has internal supports and can be hung from a hook or bracket.

Most garden birds will eat many different foods. Here's a quick guide to the birds that particularly enjoy this food, though other species may also enjoy it too:

I have been using this product for a very long time now and the birds that visit absolutely love it! I provide a hanging peanut holder plus bird seed on a bird table but all the birds prefer the fat stick! I get through one a week now as a family of tits hatched nearby and are are a joy to watch as the babies beg for more! I have such a variety of birds that visit and my favourite has to be the woodpecker, gorgeous! I must also mention how pleased I am that I don,t have to try threading string through the hole to hang it up, so simple now with the inclusion of the firm tag.

    Birds love it
Our garden birds love the suet cakes. The new packaging make them easier to handle; just unwrap and hang on the hook. The jackdaws tend to hog them, but leave lots left for the smaller tits and finches. Even the robins have learned to feed from them.

    The birds like it, but...
I like the new packaging. The birds like the food (although they liked the old recipe too!). The problem? This food is very crumbly and some birds can peck off large lumps. This means that there is more wastage, there's a lot of mess to clean up, and the birds go though it twice as fast. This means I would have to spend twice as much to keep up. I can't afford to spend that much, so I won't be buying these again. Please bring back the old recipe!

Took a while for the birds to start feeding on them and I was concerned that it was because they were too hard as some other reviews have stated. But once they started on them they haven't stopped!
Great value at the moment as well with the special offer.
    Would highly recommend!
