RSPB Harrier 80 scope, case & 20-60x eyepiece

RSPB > Binoculars & scopes > Scopes > RSPB Scopes
The RSPB Harrier spotting scope with 80 mm angled body and fixed 20-60x zoom eyepiece.

Made from lightweight and hard wearing polycarbon, this high-quality, versatile telescope is protected by rubber armouring on the body, which helps give shock resistence and provides a firm and tactile grip.

The ED glass optical system allows the user to enjoy pin sharp observation with excellent colour balance. Featuring a smooth single action focusing wheel for fast and accurate focusing, the Harrier scope is waterproof and dry nitrogen filled to prevent the lenses from fogging.

The long tripod foot also offers multiple positioning options, useful when digiscoping, ensuring the scope is perfectly balanced.

A truly great scope
I was used to my old Kowa TS602 for many years before I finally made up my mind to buy a new telescope. I clearly could see that my 35 year old telescope could not match the new scopes on the market now. After going through a dizzying array of telescopes. I finally settled for this one. I wasn't disappointed. The zoom lenses are fantastic with very little loss of light. Unlike my constant switching between 20x and 40x bayonet eyepieces which by the time you could focus on your bird it had more often than not flown off!
The stay on case is a brilliant idea and has always been a great help. I go to Dungeness a lot and there are few more exposed places than here. With vicious winds cutting into your skin like a knife the case does protect your valuable scope very well from small particles of flying sand and shingle. One tiny gripe is the bottom of the scope's foot could have a rubber or equivalent coating as I have had occasions where the scope has worked itself loose from my Manfrotto tripod I say this because I haven't tried it with a Viking which may be better equipped to hold the scope steady. I am very happy with all my equipment with the RSPB and Viking logos on it. I bought this excellent package in 2017 and have been happy with it throughout. Thoroughly recommend it. A trusty telescope from a reliable manufacturer and a great society.
