    Good performance
I tried a few sets of Binoculars on a visit to the Vane Farm shop. After scouring reviews I'd half settled on these as price vs performance compromise, As a spectacle wearer I found they gave a good bright image with colours well rendered. They weren't quite as good on contrast as the HD pairs but not to the extent that I'd pay the extra, On distant contrasty horizons you may see some red colour fringing along the skyline. This is not a problem at shorter distances. The binos sit well in the hand with and the focus wheel seems just to have the right gearing easily to enable precise focus. The lens cups are comfortable and effective and can be fully retracted for spectacle users. The strap is a good length and is well padded.

excellent binoculars for birding with superb light gatheringand close focus
I am an avid Birder from Nepal. I did a lot of research online before buying this binocular still wondering if it was worth the price.

I am happy it met all my expectation. I especially like its light body, light gathering, close focus and very smooth focus. I look forward to many years of excellent birding with these binoculars.

If you are wondering which binoculars to buy in mid range pricing, go for these..:-)

    Excellent binoculars for the price.
I have owned these binoculars for four months now and have been more than happy with them. I use them for spotting birds to photograph and these give a very clear and bright image.

I have looked at other makes that are far more expensive but can't justify spending a huge sum more for very little gain.

    These are extremely good value.

    Excellent apart from case
These are excellent binoculars, light and easy to handle, superb lenses and lovely focus movement. My only reservation is that the case will not hold the binoculars while the strap is connected. It is a very tight fit even without the strap and really only intended for storage at home or when not in use. Then you have to work where to store the strap!

RSPB response: Hi Hugo, thanks for your review we are glad you are enjoying the binoculars. Many thanks for letting us know about the case. The case is just meant for storage really like you say, it's not a 'stay on case', but there should be room for the strap so we will look into this with our supplier.

    Superb binoculars
I went to Minesmere with the intention of buying some new binoculars.
As we like to walk and bird watch I wanted something lightweight but didn't want to compromise on magnification. My husband has always said he doesn't want to carry binoculars around with him but he is happy to look through mine.
The chap at Minesmere was really helpful and informative. He didn't try and sell me the most expensive binoculars, which I intended to do. In all honesty the difference between this price of binoculars and the HD ones didn't warrant the extra money.
These are mid priced and I would thoroughly recommend thesme, even my husband was impressed and the next time we visit we will be purchasing a second pair for him.

    Love these binoculars
I always buy from RSPB because they absolutely need supporting. Without them there won't be anything to look at with what ever pair of binoculars you choose.
I've had Puffins, Avocets and now these and I'm really excited about them.
The previous pairs were great but these are amazing!
The image is a little larger than my 8x42 which really helps and the extra movement isn't an issue for me. Any extra movement that there is is offset by their light weight (less that Puffins).. The image is really bright and clear and are perfect for me. The 2.5 m close focusing is a real bonus too.
The ten year guarantee gives piece of mind too so all in all you can forget about binoculars and concentrate on the wild life!

Bought these on a visit to Minesmere, to replace my old 8x42 wide angle binoculars that had gone out of line/double vision. So, so pleased with clarity/brightness and lightness in weight. (My husband, who has 10x40b Z - - - - is amazed by them.) Well worth the price.

    Excellent value
Whilst these binoculars make no claim to be high definition, they are very good binoculars. I find them to be bright and sharp, and to retain good vision when light levels are low. They are lightweight and feel robust. They are definitely worth considering if you'd rather not spend a fortune on high definition binoculars but are looking for something better than the majority of binoculars on the market.
My only gripe - the eye piece surrounds do not click into place when fully extended, which can sometimes lead to them un-extending during use. It's also worth noting that a friend was unable to use them as they did not extend wide enough to fit the distance between his eyes. However, said friend has had the same issue with a number of other popular brand binoculars.
Overall, these are excellent value, thanks.
