    SPECIAL OFFER
Buy our Ultimate Easy-clean® medium nut & nibble feeder and guardian together and save £4.

    Guardian:

Adding a guardian to your feeder can help protect smaller birds from predators, and safeguard the contents from adult squirrels. Refilling and cleaning the feeder is a doddle. The guardian slips over the feeder, then screws into place.

The space between the cage and the bird feeder is wider than in previous designs, making it harder for larger birds and adult squirrels to reach the feeder.

Ultimate Easy-clean small nut & nibble feeder:

This bird feeder is great for feeding peanuts and suet pellets/nibbles to your garden birds. High-quality and durable, these feeders are made to withstand the elements with stainless steel mesh and powder-coated zinc alloy fittings. The metal fittings also stop squirrels chewing and damaging the feeder as they would with plastic feeders.

These feeders have been designed to include Easy-clean functionality. Simply twist the base off and remove the lid to clean.

    A Well Designed Bird Feeder
Just felt the need to say a few words to add balance to some of the strangely negative reviews already posted that don't seem to relate to the feeder I've purchased at all.
First of all it's well made ... the outer wire cage is very strong and sturdy and looks like it will last many years
The inner seed tube is I believe stainless steel so should last an equally long amount of time.
But it's the overall design I really like which makes filling the feeder very easy and keeping it clean too which is of equal importance.
Some real thought has gone into making this and it shows.
As to what the birds think....well the ones in my garden love it.
I hung this up and literally within only a couple of hours the birds were in there feeding.
I know a good review should cover the good and bad to be relevant but for me this is a feeder I would buy again and

    Birds hate them!
Purchased 3 of these to deter squirrels, which they do. Unfortunately in the month we have been using them the birds have not used them either! I estimate less than a quarter of a tube has been consumed from one feeder and a negligible amount from the two others. Perhaps our birds are picky but they will just not enter the cages.
    RSPB response
We are sorry that you were disappointed. We know from testing and customer feedback that birds do use these, though they are wary creatures and can take time to adjust to any new feeding set up. We would recommend giving these a little longer.

    Not rat proof
Unfortunately the gaps are not small enough, so rats can get through them. We have had to stop using it because it attracts rats
    RSPB response
Thank you. We are sorry that you were disappointed. This guardian is made to exact specifications to deter large birds and most adult squirrels and allow for the safe entry of small birds. Unfortunately this is not designed with rats in mind.

    Colour ?
I have not seen any birds enter the guardian YET the one that we have is silver the other guardians ( different types ) are green and I can’t help thinking this might be putting the birds off ....just a thought ..
    RSPB response
Thank you for your review. We know from customer feedback that birds do use these and we don't believe the colour is an issue. Birds can take time to adjust to any new feeding arrangement and we would recommend giving this some more time.

    Absolutely superb
These feeders with guardians are the best i have bought, within days of setting up i have numeous blue tits, long tailed tits, starlings, wood peckers etc. I use one type for suet nibbles and one for blackflower seed, both very much in demand, these are the only set ups i have had which have stopped the squirrels destroying them. other manufacturers i find aren't that robust and the feeders get destroyed, others equivalent of guardians for example leave the green lids outside of the guardian which the squirrels find very accomodating as they can open them, nibble around the top and once the integrity is damaged you are fighting a losing battle, these rspb ones dont rust and even though a bit more expensive that competitors ones are far better and longer lasting and i will buy again, when they get them in stock lol over all, one very happy customer, will repeat buy and you must use the guardian especially if you have grey squirrels

Poor quality, small birds wouldn't use it!
Purchased thinking if sold by RSPB was small bird friendly and good quality - it is neither.
I have only ever seen 2 birds use it and after only 1 yr is rusting. Very disappointed - sadly it not only keeps squirrels away but birds too,
    RSPB response
Thank you. We are very sorry to hear this. From customer feedback, we know birds do use these. Not to have any visitors after a year is unusual, so we would recommend changing with the siting. Re the rust, please contact our customer services team.

    Squirrel-proof and bird-proof!
Sadly I have seen a very few birds enter the feeding area in the months that i have had it so I cannot understand previous good reviews. I live in the country with a large bird population. It has been a complete waste of money and not cheap. Suggest the gauge is just too small. There is a fine balance to be reached I agree. Who did the market research?
    RSPB response
Thank you for your review. We are sorry to hear about this. As you say, we know from customer feedback that birds do use these and would recommend experimenting with the siting. Other factors such as cover and visibility can sometimes be the issue.

Good Product, blue tits used it on day 2
This guarded feeder arrived 1-2 days ago, almost a week ahead of promised delivery date, so THANK YOU RSPB SHOP, as my bird visitors used it during the coldest days of the year. I love the look and ease of assembly. I bought it to ensure long supply of peanuts for small birds, as my squirrels go through my unguarded feeder quite fast, and birds are intimidated by them. I do have a serious concern though. The assembly is secured with a plastic nut and screw, and my squirrels have in the past eaten through any plastics that stand between them and the peanuts. So I don't know how long this feeder will last. I'm just hoping that they won't easily find/access the screw fitting, which is located underneath. If they do I shall update my views on this product; but so far, after a couple of days, I'm quite pleased with it.

RSPB response: Thank you for your lovely review, its great to hear how happy you are with this feeder. Squirrels are very smart creatures, however we have not heard of them locating and chewing through the screw fitting.
