only lasted one month

I bought this bird feeder to replace an old feeder (also purchased from the RSPB) which had lasted about 6 years, but eventually ended up with damage in the metal mesh, made by squirrels. I had expected the new feeder to have a similar lifespan, but after just one month, it too has been damaged and is now unusable, as the peanuts just pour out. I do not mind squirrels using the feeder, so I am reluctant to buy squirrel proof feeders. However, I am searching for a feeder that is more durable and cannot be damaged in such a short space of time.

RSPB response: Thank you. We are sorry that you are disappointed with your purchase. We advise that our Classic feeders are not suitable for squirrels. We recommend our Ultimate range, made from a tough polycarbonate and zinc alloy.
