This RSPB high definition WiFi camera nestbox system allows you to stream live video and audio direct to your mobile or smart device in just a few easy steps, without the need to connect to your internet router via a network cable.

Watch wild birds build nests and raise chicks in stunning detail, while still providing a safe home for birds. This camera captures both the entrance hole and the nest in the same frame, giving you the whole picture, and includes a highly sensitive microphone.

The WiFi camera also gives you the option of onboard recording with the use of a micro SD card, so you can record when motion is detected and replay it later via the app. At night, the camera switches to 10 x LEDs emitting invisible infrared light, capturing sharp black and white images without disturbing the sleeping birds.

Good in parts...
The camera gives very good quality pictures and sound. The app you have to use to see and download them has a horrible user interface and carries adverts, not what I expect from a product of this price. Connecting the camera to wifi is difficult if you have several networks, because you have no way of knowing which one it is trying to use, I had to turn all but one off. The roof of the box split after a few months' use, where one o the screw fixing the "skylight" was fitted - repairable not not what I expect at this price point. However, the videos of the nest building, egg laying, hatching and rearing were wonderful to see.

nestbox with wifi camera
It was simple to set up. I downloaded the required app onto both phone & tablet. Couldn't download alternate app to laptop. All android technology. Needs a micro Sim card inserted, not supplied, to record any visits to nestbox or activity which is not being viewed live. Instructions to set up were fine. Just be careful of all enclosed leaflets which contain codes which are needed. In other words, don't discard the packaging & enclosures until all set up! Now all I need is for birds to choose it as a 'des res' in preference to old boxes!

Great camera, dreadful app
The app for this camera is utterly horrible to set up and use, and you have to get past an advert every time you use it. The error messages are obtuse, and all the reviews are bad. The camera itself is very good, having finally got the app working and struggled to use it, the video and sound are excellent. It's worth persevering with the app, the results are worth it, but at this price the app should be as good as the camera.
