Spike's Dinner dry hedgehog food

Spike's hedgehog food is packed with nutritious chicken and suitable for hedgehogs of all ages. Great on its own or mixed with other foods, it is designed as a supplement to the hedgehogs natural diet. Fed regularly, it can encourage hedgehogs to visit your garden all year round.

A great way to attract hedgehogs to your garden, is to put out supplementary food and water. This is especially helpful when they are preparing to hibernate (October-December) or emerging from hibernation (February-April).

Feeding guide
Place in a shallow dish and put out before dusk. A mature hedgehog can eat about 20 g each night. Provide fresh water too.

Top tips for hedgehog health

• A wild area of garden can provide shelter and food. 
• Ensure there is a slope or ramp out of ponds so hedgehogs can climb out. 
• Avoid using slug pellets. 
• Check for hedgehogs before strimming long grass or lighting a bonfire. 
• Don't handle baby hedgehogs unless orphaned, as the mother will abandon them. 
• If you see a hedgehog out in daylight it is probably hungry, thirsty or ill. If in any doubt, call your local hedgehog hospital.
