    Tips over very easily
This feeder is robust and the mesh only lets through the very smallest seed. However I put the feeder out the afternoon I received it and when I went out the next morning the feeder was empty and all the seed was on the ground by the side of the feeder. It was obvious that a pigeon had landed on the side of the feeder and it had tipped over.

I can't rate this more than 2 stars, because although it is very well made it is not fit for purpose.

RSPB Response: Thank you for your review. This is not an issue that we have encountered as a widespread problem, so we will look in to it. It may have been a large pigeon, or perhaps a fox or other mammal tipping this over. Hopefully this was a one off, but feel free to contact customer services who will help further.

Doesn't work in a small city garden
I suspect there are too many cats around but the small birds will not go near this, especially if the cage is over it. Doesn't matter where I place it. They are happy to go into the trees and to the stand for the feeders and even on the ground in quick dashes but will not touch the food in the tray.

RSPB response - Thanks for your review. It can take several weeks for birds to get used to any new feeder in the garden. If there are a lot of cats around, the birds will be very wary and it may take some time before they pluck up the courage to try the feeder.

    Ground feeding birds love this.
I've got two of these feeders now as ground feeling birds love themr, especially robins and blackbirds. Starlings and tits use it too - actually all birds love this feeder. It is very easy to fill and move around to different areas if you wish. It is very robust and has been out in all sorts of weathers and stands up to being washed in soapy water. I also tied it to a tall tree stump as a make-shift bird table and that was very successful and discrete.
