Product description

RSPB British Birds of Prey is a celebration of British raptors, with 200 stunning colour photographs by acclaimed raptor photographer Stig Frode Olsen, and an authoritative text by Marianne Taylor.
It's a showcase of these fabulous birds, that also highlights the diverse work of the RSPB in ensuring their survival.

This book tells the story of Britain's birds of prey, and how changing attitudes have affected their fortunes over the years.
Britain has 15 species of native raptors and just five owls, but among them are some of the world's most iconic and spectacular birds.

Learn the stories of each of the species and some of the fascinating individuals, like the cyclist-hating buzzard of the West Country and the senior citizen osprey pair at Loch of the Lowes, who have produced 55 eggs there since 1991, as well as the recovery of the UK's marsh harrier population from just three birds in 1971, to nearly 400 pairs today.
A fantastic and inspiring book.

Fantastic book
Wow, this is an amazing book. Great write-up on all the birds with chapters about each one that are very easy to dip into, and stunning photographs. Good detail about habitat, breeding and migration with information on which parts of the country you re likely to find each bird.

I would not be without this book
This is a fantastic book that I refer to constantly as I am lucky enough live close to hills where a range of raptors can be seen. I have read and re-read most sections and find the text highly informative, entertaining and beautifully written. i got this book for Christmas 2 years ago and am buying 2 copies for good friends who have special birthdays this year.
If you love raptors - get it. The photographs are nothing short of miraculous.

Excellent reference book
A super book for anyone with a remote interest in raptors.Top quality photographs and highly informative text. The only book I have seen better for british raptors is the Collins birds of prey- both books are hard to get hold of, if you see them - buy them without hesitation.
