Great Food

I bought a double pack, of everything. We had tried suet balls, a disaster. But used the 'hanging cake' and a week later we have to put up a new one, its all been eaten!! The foodstuffs are eaten to the last seed daily. And we have three ring necked doves that now almost permanently reside in our tree!! We have even had goldfinches for the first time in absolutely ages. Everything from wrens, robins to blackbirds and wood pigeons. Great stuff.

cheap food?

I regularly buy RSPB sunflower hearts from Sainsbury's, however i noticed that Wilkinson's were selling sunflower hearts for half the price. So, i tried them - twice. I noticed that the goldfinches were picking them out of the feeders and dropping them to the ground, where they rotted, the pigeons wouldnt touch them, presumably the finches went unfed!!! So i switched back to the RSPB hearts. Result? no more mess under the feeders. More expensive, for sure but no waste and happy birds!!!

Excellent range

This is a really good variety pack and covers just about everything to cater for all garden birds. I would recommend it and will buy it again. It's also very handy if you're in a hurry and just want to order the basics.
Any chance of putting a piece of string in with it for hanging the cake? I can never find any when I want some!

A revelation

We have a small garden which seemed birdless except for pigeons until I bought this collection. Now blackbirds, tits and wrens have found us and we are delighted. The pigeons are still there, waiting to mop up whatever lands on the ground as the smaller birds tuck in.
