Great feeder!
I felt I had to add a review as I bought my first one of these in July 2019 and was so pleased with it that I bought another in early 2020. All birds, including parakeets have no problem feeding from them. We have a lot of sparrows and there are often 4 feeding at once! I do hang them under tree canopies and so the seed doesn't get too damp when it rains and dries out quickly. They are so wonderfully easy to clean compared to some feeders. The only niggle is that the lid can be stiff to lock and unlock, but wearing rubber gloves sorts that out! I've seen that many people have been disappointed and can only think that the manufacturer sent a faulty shipment. The rings on both of mine seem perfectly fine touch wood.

Big birds can empty this in minutes
This did not work in my garden because starlings and magpies would land on it, rock it, tip out the seeds in the tray which are then replaced by seeds from the container and so on and so on. Within minutes the feeder was almost empty and my dogs were eating the seeds. Where did I go wrong?
RSPB response
We are sorry to hear this. Corvids are clever creatures and it appears these ones have found a way around the feeder's design. A pigeon spacer and seed tray may help. The tray will catch the seed and the spacer may draw the large birds away from the feeder

Brilliant
The reviews said it was good, I hoped for something that would appeal to small birds and I couldn't be more pleased.

Once I put it in the right place for them they loved it and will pretty much each the food as quickly as I fill it :)

NO it isn't
This feeder looks as though it would feed small birds. Small birds come BUT if you can call Crows, Magpies and Jackdaws small birds I suppose it is a great success.

Quality feeder, but make sure squirrels can't get to it!
I bought this to replace a similar RSPB feeder which had cracked after years of use. Initially the birds showed no interest in it, but I put it out following a major garden renovation and now it sees a lot of traffic from small birds, particularly tits. It is a good-quality, easy-to-use, solidly-made feeder which holds a decent volume of seeds and keeps them dry. A word of caution: it is made of plastic, so locate it where squirrels can't reach it - mine has several toothmarks in the base where the squirrels chewed down the plastic to reach the seeds in the tray, so on one side the edge is quite ragged. I generally prefer metal feeders as the squirrels can't gnaw them, but I suspect that would make this very heavy. I've now moved it to a long hook hanging down from a tree where the squirrels can't get to it and have had no more damage.
RSPB response
Thank you for your review. It is great to hear that the small birds are enjoying this feeder. We also generally recommend metal feeders for gardens with squirrels, but congratulations on outsmarting them!

Easy clean, good value
I find this little dispenser great for the birds, they love it and access the seeds very easily, yet no spillage. Very easy to take apart and clean.

Good Quality Feeder
A very sturdy feeder which is easy to open and fill. It also hangs well off the bird table and doesn't break when wind blows the table over.
