Could do with a wider roof..
Reasonably ok when weather good.. food absolutely soaked when wet and windy - which is often in our winter... am now looking to make a better cover - something makers of this should consider!

The Birds Love It!
I love this ground feeder, and so do the birds! As soon as I put it together and placed it outside, the sparrows immediately made a beeline for it! I thought that it would be ignored for a few days, as happened with my other ground feeders, but that was not the case. It is solid and sturdy, and I am hoping it will withstand wet and windy weather. My only comment is that it would be nice to have a divider, like the ground feeder without a roof has, so you can put a variety of different food out.

Great table but really dislike the plastic tray
I think the wood table and roof is great. It looks good and it’s sturdy. The odd plastic tray though (which you slot into the base) I really don’t like at all. It’s very curved, and far too smooth, and as result the birds (which can’t find any purchase on it) don’t like standing on it, defeating the point? I get it may be easier to clean but if the birds don’t like it, there’s not much point! Can anyone please explain the tray?

Thank you. The tray is recycled plastic and very easy to clean. Frequent cleaning is important to preventing disease among birds. We have had no other reports of birds avoiding these trays, but they can take time to adjust to any new garden feature.
