    Product information

Feeding stations, laden with feeders, food and birds can sometimes tilt over to one side, especially in a strong wind, or with a heavy pigeon landing! To add more stability to your feeding station, we've developed this ground base with four spikes.

    • Designed to fit our green Feeder pole (R0318), Premium feeding stations (R421116, R421113) and our feeding stations (R421115, R421114).
    • Measures 42 x 42cm.
    • Each spike is 15cm long.

14 months and still going strong.
The intense winds and rainstorms kept knocking our feeder over, so we bought this ground base in April 2019. I'm pleased to say14 months later it still works perfectly, giving our feeder four strong footholds into the grass.

    Poor Design?
Mine has just arrived and I was very surprised that the main pole did not slide through the sleeve into the ground. As an engineer (albeit retired) I would have expected the main pole to go into the ground and then the 4 radial arm spikes (I would have designed it with three) could have been slid down the pole and pressed into the ground for stability.
OK I have not tried it yet so I shall continue erecting it and putting it in the garden to see how it performs.

    Very disappointing.
I bought this stand to go with the premium feeder. Was so upset when it developed a 'leaning' attitude almost as soon as the feeder was inserted......and that was without any of the feeders! Not good enough RSPB.

Thank you. We are sorry that you were disappointed with this. Please ensure the bottom of the feeding station passes through the base and into the ground. This must be at a greater depth than the forks to ensure stability.

    Stable base
The base is very stable once inserted into the ground. Mine held up 4 feeders without leaning over even though we have had high winds lately. The Ø25mm tube will also fit in with the narrow end at the top so extra extensions can be added without them filling the inside with water. I did however change the fasteners to stainless steel because zinc plated ones aluminium angle 60 x 60 x 5do not last long exposed to the elements.
