First things first - why did we change the shopping site?
Our shopping site was getting a bit old. We hadn't updated it since 2008, which in technology terms is pretty ancient. Things have improved and moved on a lot. Also, the platform our old site was built on was about to become obsolete, so it wouldn't have been supported by the manufacturer any more. So the change was basically forced upon us.

Many of the new features on this site are there because you gave us your feedback and told us what would be most helpful to you.
You asked, we listened!

There's lots of great new features on our site.
Here's a quick guide to help you find your way around.

Product listings

If you're familiar with our previous shopping site you'll notice that our products are listed a bit differently now.
Where we used to have products in groups, we now list them individually. For example, if a particular bird seed comes in four sizes, you'll find each one listed as a separate product.

We've done this for lots of good reasons, the main one being to make finding and comparing products easier for you. You can sort products by name, to see all the sizes together - or you can sort them by price to see all the similar products together.

You can also narrow down your selection by using the filters. Select the type of bird you want to feed, the type of feeder you want to fill, the price range you want to spend - plus many other options.

You asked for more information and bigger pictures - so we added both.
On our new product pages you'll find lots of useful information, specifications, advice and even videos.
Move your cursor over the product image and it'll zoom in to show you a close-up.

Favourites

If you order regularly, you can keep a handy list of your favourite products.
You'll find the 'Add to favourites' near the 'Add to basket' button on either the category or the product page.
Just click on it to add a product to your list. A blue message box will display at the top of the screen, confirming that the product has been added to your list. (You need to be logged into your shopping account to use favourites, as it's linked to your account.)

To see your favourites list, click on the link at the top right of the screen.

From your favourites list you can quickly add the products you want to your basket.
We'll even send you a reminder email every 5 weeks - but only if you want us to. Tick the box to subscribe to the reminder email.

Compare

Not sure which binoculars or bird food to buy? Our Compare page can help.
Add up to 4 products to the Compare list to see their features and specifications side-by-side to help you choose which is right for you. You can add more than 4, but you'll have to scroll the list sideways to see them, so it works best with 4.

You'll find the 'Add to compare' near the 'Add to basket' button on either the category or the product page.

To see your compare list, click on the link at the top right of the screen.

You can easily remove products from your Compare list by clicking on 'Remove' at the top of each product.

Quick Order

If you know the product codes of the items you want to order, you can use our convenient Quick Order facility.

Find the quick order page via the links which appear at the top of the page, the Quick Order advert or the links in the page footer.

Enter the product codes (up to 10 at a time) then click NEXT.

Select the quantity you require and add the products you want to your basket, either individually or use 'Add all'.
