RSPB toiletries buying guide

RSPB Toiletries smell divine. Our Wildflowers scent is like an evening stroll through a summer garden, bursting with delicate blooms. A charming floral bouquet of fragrant white roses, violet petals and aquatic hyacinth with crisp, grassy notes.
Why is the RSPB selling toiletries?

Some brands marketed as 'ethical' still include chemicals which are harmful to nature, and palm oil which is produced from crops grown on rainforest land. Our Love nature range is different.

Pamper yourself, safe in the knowledge that all the ingredients are good for the planet and good for you.

Are your products tested on animals?

No

Do your products contain any animal-derived ingredients?

Apart from the honey and/or beeswax in a few products, the RSPB Toiletries range does not contain any animal-derived ingredients.

Where are our products made?

All of our products are made in the UK.

Where do the ingredients come from?

RSPB Toiletries products contain ingredients sourced from the UK and around the world. We have made every effort to make sure that they come from sustainable sources.

What are parabens and why don’t you use them in your products?

Parabens are a group of preservatives used in toiletries, cosmetics and some food products. We decided that, as there was no real need to include parabens in our toiletries range, we may as well just leave them out.

Why don’t you use palm oil in your products?

Palm is often grown on land that was once an ancient rainforest. The clearing of these rainforests results in the loss of thousands of species. To avoid using palm oil we have used other natural oils such as coconut. For information about our Sumatra campaign, please visit www.rspb.org.uk.

Why don’t you use sodium laurel sulphate in your products?

SLS is a common foaming or cleansing agent. Some research has suggested that SLS can strip the skin of oils and irritate sensitive skin, and for this reason we chose to use alternative natural foaming agents. Some sulphates are also derived from palm kernels. We do not use any ingredients derived from palm in our products due to the environmental impact of farming the crop.

Is the packaging recyclable?

Yes, all of the plastic bottles and glass containers are recyclable. Please contact your local council for recycling facilities/services in your area.
