I am thrilled with the clock
Bird sounds not matching pictures. We were didsapointed with the sounds, rather tinny and not realistic. Also the bird spounds did not match the pictures the cuckoo cuckoos at 4.00 when it should be the great spotted woodpecker this is only one example. About nine out of twelve are wrong., so disappointing as I gave it to my husband for his birthday. Can anything be done about this. we are in New Zealand and had bought it last year whilst in the UK.
RSPB response: Hello, thank you for your review. Please contact our customer services team who will be happy to help you. The bird sounds should match the pictures, it sounds like the clock isn't set up properly. The instructions supplied in the first batch of clocks were unfortunately slightly misleading, we have posted the correct instructions on this product page. By Bird Lovers, on 27 Apr 2016
disappointing compared to previous versionsThis is the third birdsong clock we have owned over the years. The first got dropped and broken, the second got damp from a leaky roof and stopped working, and we were given this one as a present recently. However, the quality has definitely decreased and we are quite disappointed with our clock. Previous versions had a light sensor so the volume of the bird songs got quieter as light levels decreased, which was a great feature. And most disappointing is the quality of the recordings. Although they are seemingly the same recordings as previous clocks, the sound quality has been massively decreased. Rather than the lovely realistic recordings we used to enjoy, they now sound tinny and quite frankly a bit piercing! RSPB bring back the better quality old version of your clock, and we would buy one to replace this disappointing new version!
