A Banquet Staple
This will always feature on my shoppoing list for bird food - our local population just loves this food and I will never have to worry that it's not being eaten! I should add that this attracts carrion crows among all of the others mentioned, and I suspect that this is mainly why I get next to no magpies!! A really good, reasonably priced, food. Birds can't get enough
This is excellent value compared to the cost of smaller bags and I am getting through loads at this time of year, in my small urban garden. The birds absolutely love these. . When I raise the kitchen blind early in the morning, more often than not the robin(s) and blackbird(s) are on the wall outside waiting for me to go out.
I do have some of these in a caged feeder, but the above-mentioned, plus the starlings and dunnocks prefer to take them from the ground. They fill their beaks and fly off, so I know that lots of little nestlings are being well fed. I also put out dried mealworms - the combination keeps my garden full of birds.
Downside - I caught a blasted cat eating some the other day. And I can't keep the magpie away. By HAZEL, on 3 May 2012

12.75 kg bumper box of Buggy nibbles.
Putting our Buggy nibbles out in your garden is like putting hot cakes on the kitchen table: they are a delicacy that few garden birds can resist. Made from a tasty mix of mealworms, premium UK suet and cereal.
Buggy nibbles are a great alternative to peanuts. They can be fed from a wire mesh nut and nibble feeder year-round. As they don't have the choking hazards of whole peanuts, they are also suitable for feeding loose from tables.
Made in the UK from top quality suet, they're a firm favourite with many garden birds.

Our suet products are specially formulated to make them suitable for year-round feeding. However, if positioned in direct sunlight they may soften or melt in very hot weather. If this is happening, try placing them in a shaded spot instead, or waiting until the weather is cooler.
