Disappointed that string issues not resolvedAs I had previously reported problems with the strings on these, I had hoped that the batch I bought most recently would be better. However, each day after hanging the first few, I found the coconut shells on the ground with the string loose. I thought it might have been enthusiastic feeding by the jackdaws and woodpecker but when I tried the string on the next FOUR before I hung them, the strings pulled through with little effort. I now push a stiff plastic tie through the hole before hanging. The birds love these but I haver bought another brand and didn't have the same issue with the strings.
RSPB response - Thank you for your comment. We are sorry to hear of this issue. We have fed this back to our manufacturer so improvements can be made.

Loved by lots of birdsOur birds love these, not had any string problems, used by woodpecker, great, blue, coal and longtailed tits, robin, chaffinch, and even the wren yesterday, about to order more! Oh, tree sparrow and chaffinch as well, and yes, the odd jackdaw! By Trish, on 6 Apr 2017
Birds love them but strings are uselessI've bought lots of these now and find that every single time the strings pull out/break within a day or so of me hanging them up (if the strings don't pull off before I've even hung them - which has happened a few times).
However the birds really love them so I'm continuing to put up with them - most of the time they go missing, so maybe someone's flown off with them!!
RSPB response: Thank you for your review, really glad the birds like the product. We will look into the issue with the string, this has not been a problem before so we will be speaking with the manufacturer about this. By Shirena, on 1 Feb 2017
