We've lost all our Goldfinches!
We used to have 20 or more Goldfinches using our 2 feeders when we used gold sunflower seeds. Now they've all gone thanks to using black seeds. We are pensioners so we tried the cheaper option of the black ones as the RSPB website said that they are suitable for Goldfinches. Sunflower seed frenzy!
I regularly by the 2 big bag deal. It lasts two to three months in our three garden feeders in urban Manchester attracting bullfinches, greenfinches, chaffinches, blue tits, coal tits, the odd dunnock and wren, robins, sparrows. Slow starter
Bought a large bag in October 2010. Initially the feeder remained full and I thought that I had wasted my money. After a few months I could not keep up! Mainly sparrows were clearing the feeder within a day. Now attracting various tits and a few green finch which we have never had before. By John, on 10 May 2011
