Not convinced yet

The window feeder has been up a month now & all we have had are Ring Collared Doves, Pigeons & Magpies visit it.In fact one Dove has decided it is perfect place to sit & rest all day. We live opposite woodland & have a great many birds visit feeders in back garden so I put this on front window to attract the smaller birds. We have had all sorts visit our previous window feeder.
I note a previous review mentions glueing pencils to feeder so I will try this but a modification - maybe a large holed grill may work. It will not look too pretty but I will try & attach some chicken wire to the front of feeder to keep larger birds out. By CraftyCat, on 29 Sep 2017

Great feeder

Now the birds have found the feeder (it took a few weeks) it is used all the time. Our resident Mr blackbird loves it and taps on the window whilst feeding so we know he is there. I bought it as a gift for my elderly Mum on Mother's day and she has it in the window just a few feet from her chair. It's like the birds are visiting her when they use it and she enjoys keeping it topped up for them. She is going to buy one as a gift for someone who visited and loved it too. Really good, but required modification

Our window feeder has worked really well. We are lucky in having trees near to the window of our flat, so the birds use the trees as a staging post to check for danger before making the short jump to the feeder. Two pairs of bullfinches particularly enjoy visiting.

However, some clever magpies worked out how to fly just right and tuck themselves in to land at the feeder. They then emptied the whole thing for their friends to gobble up from the ground. I glued two small pencils to the corners of the feeder, which stopped that though, so its quite fixable if you find yourselves with a magpie problem. By Ali, on 9 Apr 2017

Product information

Keep an extra-close eye on your garden birds with this new contemporary porthole window feeder. The unusual porthole shape allows birds to be seen through the centre of the feeder as they eat, and will add interest to your window, even without any feathered visitors!

With a large-capacity hopper this feeder is perfect for feeding a variety of seeds, suet and other bird food. A separate container is also included to help prevent live mealworms from escaping.
