Birds love them but strings are uselessI've bought lots of these now and find that every single time the strings pull out/break within a day or so of me hanging them up (if the strings don't pull off before I've even hung them - which has happened a few times).
However the birds really love them so I'm continuing to put up with them - most of the time they go missing, so maybe someone's flown off with them!!
RSPB response: Thank you for your review, really glad the birds like the product. We will look into the issue with the string, this has not been a problem before so we will be speaking with the manufacturer about this. By Shirena, on 1 Feb 2017
As others... birds adore these but the strings are currently hopeless...I have been buying these for a couple of years and have had the odd issue with the strings.. a whole bag had strings that were too short... but generally manageable. However, I opened a new box this morning and the strings pulled our of the first four I opened. I think the holes are possibly too big but the knots were obviously not tied properly either as they pulled through and the ends were only kinked rather than the whole knot pulling through. It might just be this batch ( I hope!!!) number 2496 exp 09/2018. Fortunately, I managed to push through a new feeder hook I had bought!
RSPB Response: Thank you for the feedback and we are sorry to hear of the recent issue. We have fed this information back to our supplier and they will investigate and ensure that this is addressed. We are glad that you and your birds enjoy these! By Deidre, on 11 Oct 2016
Birds very happy, but I agree on the stringsA lot of birds love them including ones which are ground feeders, but which have learned to eat from them. However, as said before, you can get the string coming out. It is good to have the longer strings as I have to wind the string round the hanger several times and pull it tightly to stop the magpies and rooks who have learned to access then from pulling them off.
