EntertainingThis is a nice looking birdbath and a good size. So far pigeons and blackbirds have had baths and with the recent hot weather they really look as though they enjoyed it. Yesterday 2 pigeons were lying down in it side by side as if they were in heaven. It does seem to be too deep for small birds but I'm loathe to put stones in it as it would prevent the larger birds from bathing. We have loads of sparrows in our garden and they perch on the edge to drink and flap their wings in the water and anyway they have a small dish of water elsewhere so they can have a bath there if they want. Overall, I'm very pleased with it and it gives us a lot of pleasure watching the birds' antics. By Chrissie B, on 24 Jul 2016
Small birds find it difficultHave owned one for two months now. It looks good and should last a long time. However unless it is kept full to the brim the steep sides with the smooth finish mean that small birds are unable to drink from it. Am going to place a rock in the centre to allow them access. The birds love it.Am new to all things bird and bought this along with some feeders. Well a few days after setting up, we looked out to 5/6 starlings or blackbirds splashing around in it. What an unexpected joy! We will now try and work out which birds we actually have apart from the numerous house sparrows who visit every day (who tend to drink rather than wash). Super product. Coniston bird bath + stand - save £3
- Product information
This large, impressive bird bath and stand made from durable Clayplas is a durable mix of recycled plastic and clay.
It is resistant to warping and cracking, even in heavy frost and icy conditions, so it can safely be left outside all year round. And the added height of the stand makes it more resistant to ground predators, allowing birds to drink and bathe with less risk.
With its textured rim it offers grip to the birds and a smooth, easy to clean inner surface.
We recommend adding stones and pebbles to the bath to simulate a natural, shallow pool, this may further encourage birds to bathe.
Birds need water for drinking and bathing. Water is particularly important during the winter when natural supplies may be frozen, and in dry, hot weather during the summer when water can be hard to find.
Keeping your bird bath clean will help keep your birds healthy, happy and coming back for more.
